So, I'm an Esme. Of course I am. She's got the least amount of dialogue and we know the least amount about her. Figures.
I'm counting down to "Twilight" - November 21, right??

The Office

I love "The Office." Enough said about that. I took a quiz at www.nbc.com/The_Office and found out that I have a split personality of Pam and Angela. So, I'm guessing I must be innocent with a handful of bitchy thrown in - or maybe it's the other way around.

Anyway, I've collected some of my favorite Office quotes below (in no particular order). However, you can only truly appreciate it if you hear the characters say it themselves.

Happy "Office" everyone!

Ryan: Did this happen on company property?
Michael Scott: It was on company property, with company property. So, double jeopardy, we're fine.
Ryan: I don't think-- I don't think you understand how jeopardy works.
Michael Scott: Oh, I'm sorry. What is, 'we're fine'?

Angela: Sometimes the clothes at GAP Kids are just too flashy so I'm forced to go to the American Girl Store and order clothes for large, colonial dolls.

Dwight Schrute: Yes! 'Funtivities.' I knew it wasn't just a trip to the beach.
Michael Scott: Okay, you know what? Your enthusiasm is turning people off.
Dwight Schrute: I hope there will be management parables.

Creed: What is wrong with this woman? She's asking about stuff that's nobody's business. 'What do I do?' What do I do, I do here. I should have written it down. 'Qua' something. Quaaa. Quarr. Quab. Quall. Qwer. Quobbity! Quobbity assurance! No, but I’m getting close.

[aiming a rifle at Michael] Dwight Schrute: Nothing to worry about, just using the scope. Safety is... [clicks safety] on!

Dwight Schrute: Someone forged medical information, and that's a felony.
Jim Halpert: OK, Whoa, alright 'cause that's a pretty intense accusation. How do you know that they're fake?
Dwight Schrute: Uh, Leprosy? Flesh Eating Bacteria. Hot Dog Fingers. Government Created Killer Nano Robot Infection?

Dwight Schrute: Who wrote this 'hilarious' one, anal fissures?
Kevin: That's a real thing.
Dwight Schrute: Yeah, well no one here has it.
Kevin: [timidly looks around] Someone has it.

Dwight Schrute: This is what I'm gonna do. I'm going to randomly select three names, and these three people will get liposuction. Ughhhh. Stanley, Phyllis, Kevin. And you will be responsible for your own medical bills.

Dwight Schrute: [introducing himself] Hi, Dwight. You resemble a Tolkien character.
Ryan: He basically is man, he's a regular banking wizard.
Dwight Schrute: No no no, not a wizard, a hobbit.

Dwight Schrute: Excuse me.
Tall girl: Yeah?
Dwight Schrute: How did you all find each other?
Tall girl: Uh, we're the Jersey State Varsity Basketball Team. North-East regional champs! [girls cheer]
Dwight Schrute: Amazons...

Andy: Andy Bernard does not lose contests. He wins them. Or he quits them. Because they're unfair.

Dwight Schrute: Wait a minute! One more bite of eclair each. Hold it in your mouth if you can't swallow it.
Jim Halpert: [to Michael] Really? Nothing?

Nice Rack

Since it is deer huntin' season, I have to pay homage to my own hunter orange days. This really is such an unflattering picture of me, but every time I come across it, I have to laugh.

Sam bought me this shirt for my first Andrus Family Deer Hunt. So, to appease my husband, I wore it. Not until later when I saw this picture did I realize what a mistake that was....this picture is pre-boob job (you know, the reduction type).

I tried it on again later, and this picture doesn't do it justice - that poor deer's head got lost in my headlights.

It's the Great Pumpkin (Patch)!

Fall is my favorite time of year, and the weather in Grand Junction was so nice last week. We went to a pumpkin patch and corn maze. The kids liked it, although Matt's favorite part was just playing in the dirt and literally rolling around in it...like he's never seen dirt before...I don't know.

Matt and Milo

Kassie, Cooper, and Mom (Nana)

Dad (Boppa) and Matt

Matt and Me

Allison, Matt, and Jason

She Never Does That...

So, Kassie is 14 now and a bit of a teenager. Although, she is tolerating "the boys" better than she ever has. I even happened to catch her picking up and holding Cooper...all when she thought nobody was looking. Maybe she's just coming to terms with it all now and is accepting that those boys aren't going anywhere.

Kannah Creek Mining

I went "home" again this last week. While there, Jason told me about digging for fossils in the hills near the creek. (And for those of you who don't know, it is pronounced CRIK, not creak - and I don't care what anyone says, that is not the hick way to say it!) I had no idea such fossils where even around there, but you didn't have to dig too long to find imprints of leaves and shells. I came across a weirder looker rock, like it had veins and layers to it, and asked my brother if he'd actually seen a whole shell before. He hadn't, but later came across the same type of rock I had. If you scratched it with your teeth and tasted it, it actually tasted like what you might imagine an oily rag would taste like....

So, them's oil shale in them there hills! It was pretty cool....now if only that alkali enriched brown clay dirt could make somebody some money....

Tractors

My good friend, Kara, came to visit and stay a couple nights the other week. We were roommates at Dixie for both years, and now she lives in Vegas with her husband, son, plus one on the way (hopefully a boy!). Swaney stopped by on her way back from visiting her family in Colorado (Long Live Colorado!) so we could chat and Nathan could play with the boys. Nathan and Milo are a week apart and probably would've been born on the same day if I hadn't had a C-section.

I loved having her came stay. I introduced her to Tai-Pan while she introduced me to mint Oreos, we downed a package of Hershey's chocolates, and critiqued Dancing With the Stars and The Biggest Loser. All in all it was a pretty productive two days.

What boy doesn't love a tractor or a shovel?

The Coopie-Do

This is Cooper's 1-year-old picture. I have to admit that I do love his mohawk. He has these two cowlicks that are in the perfect position that make a natural mohawk. Angelina Jolie's Maddox has nothing on the "Coopie-Do."

Something, too, I just learned - it's spelled "cowlick," maybe like an actual mother cow licking her calf...I don't know. But, according to my Google search, most people have two "hairwhorls," with one being dominant. Coopie's "do" stands up so straight, though, because both hairwhorls are equally aggressive. Gotta love Google...

Matt's Soccer Game

Matt had his first soccer game on Saturday. He's on a team with other 3-4 year-olds that live in Winchester Hills. His coach is one of my friends, who also has a son on the team. I was surprised at how aggressive they actually played. Matt got right in there and after the ball, only stopping when he fell down and had to wipe his wet legs off (he hates to be wet at all). They play 3-on-3, and the field is only about 20 yards long, with these tiny goals at each end.

With three boys, this is the first of many games to come. I never played soccer growing up, but I was actually getting nervous. I don't want to be one of those obnoxious parents, but I was definitely getting into it.

The Biggest Loser

Watching "The Biggest Loser" is really so cathartic lately. I cry like a freakin' baby. They're doing family situations now and one of the teams is a father/daughter duo. I cry because I can totally relate. The daughter just turned 24 in this last episode and her dad is in his 50s, I think - similar to the age of myself and my dad. The daughter wants her dad to lose weight so bad because he has every risk factor in the book and she believes he won't live to walk her down the aisle.

I can totally relate to this poor girl. I'd rather my dad lose weight and get healthy more than I'd like to win the lottery. I think life can wear you down, though, and you get into a routine that's comfortable and helps you survive and it's hard to make losing weight a priority. Hence, my dad who works crazy hours as a railroad engineer, combined with a bumb knee and ankle, and years of bad habits. It's just so frustrating to watch someone you love not want to make the commitment to get healthy - I feel sometimes like he's a ticking bomb. I know my dad wants to get healthy and feel better, but he doesn't quite have all the motivation to.

So, I cry when I watch this girl's relationship with her dad, and then cried some more when he was voted off this week. Good news, though, he did go home to lose 50 pounds on his own. I've tried to get my dad to go on "The Biggest Loser," but he's not into it. I wonder if I could secretly sign him up and have Bob come knock on his door...
